The base profile serves as a support for fastening insulation boards in the thermal insulation system, which is executed by the “wet” method. The width of the supporting part of the profile must correspond to the thickness of thermal insulation boards. The profile should be fastened to the base of the house 50 cm below the basement floor, or 30 cm above the paving level. The side of the profile with large holes must be fastened directly to the facade, and the opposite side, with smaller holes, to the thermal insulation boards. The profile is fastened with dowels at a distance of 30 cm. It is also recommended to use plastic pads (compensators) for a closer adjoining to the surface. The ends of the profile edges are joined with the help of bracing elements. The gap between adjacent profiles should be no more than 2–3 mm. The profile is resistant to corrosion and can last at least 30–50 years.
