for creating a supporting guide base during plastering works. The use of such a screed strip significantly simplifies the process of levelling walls or floor and reduces the time of work.
possibility of making a perfectly flat surface;
acceleration of the process of plastering the surface;
versatility of use: suitable for various types of plaster;
flexibility and simplicity;
corrosion resistance.
At the first stage, one needs to prepare the surface for applying plaster (cleaning, coating) and divide it into equal 1–2 meters wide strips. It is necessary to mark vertical lines on the marks. One should apply mortar on places where the installation of the screed guide is planned (it is recommended to make at least 5 mounting points). The next step is to place the screed guide along a vertical line and press it into the pre-applied mixture. The mortar should seep through the holes of the screed guide. The accuracy of the screed guide installation is adjusted using a spirit level, and the structure is left to dry completely. If preferred, the screed guide is dismantled. After that, one can apply the main layer of plaster.
PLASTIC PLASTERING SCREED GUIDE: Reliability & Precision in Construction
The plastic plastering screed guide is essential for leveling walls and preparing surfaces for plastering. It ensures high precision, helping to achieve perfectly flat walls. Learn how it works and integrates with sealing profiles, expansion joints, and corner beads.
What Is a Plastic Plastering Screed Guide?
A plastic screed guide is a lightweight profile used for accurate plaster application. It acts as a guide, helping professionals maintain even surfaces. Made from durable plastic, it offers ease of use, precision, and long-term performance.
Key Functions of the Plastic Plastering Screed Guide
Surface Leveling: Creates a perfectly flat base for plastering.
Material Control: Regulates plaster thickness to minimize waste.
Workflow Efficiency: Simplifies and speeds up plastering work.
Advantages of Plastic Screed Guides
- Lightweight & Easy Handling
Plastic screed guides are lightweight, making installation and removal fast and convenient. Plastic resists corrosion, ensuring long service life even in damp conditions. - High Accuracy
Rigid design ensures surface flatness without deformation. Ideal for projects that require a clean base for paint or decorative coatings. - Durability & Resistance
Made from UV-, moisture-, and chemical-resistant plastic. It maintains shape and function over time, even under repeated use. - Cost-Effectiveness
Affordable and reusable, plastic guides help save on plaster by offering precise thickness control—suitable for both professionals and DIY builders.
Applications
- Interior Wall & Ceiling Leveling
Perfect for interior spaces to create flat surfaces before finishing. - Exterior Wall Work
Used on outer walls for accurate application of plaster and cladding materials. - Repair & Renovation
Helps restore flatness in aged structures, boosting finish quality in upgrades.
Compatibility with Other Construction Materials
- Sealing Profile
Ensures tight, moisture-resistant joints and seamless transitions between plaster and surface. Prevents cracks and water ingress. - Angular Expansion Joint Profile
Absorbs movement at structural corners. Together with screed guides, it enables clean, durable corners with no cracking. - Plastering Corner Bead
Used to reinforce and define corners, working with screed guides to create durable, straight, and aesthetic angles.
Purchase & Installation
Plastic screed guides are widely available in construction supply stores and online. Installation is simple and doesn’t require special tools, making them accessible to a wide range of users.
Conclusion
Plastic plastering screed guides offer precision, speed, and durability in construction and renovation. When paired with sealing and corner profiles, they ensure high-quality finishing and long-lasting structures.
